NDP Releases New Campaign Video Urging Canadians to “Keep Canada, Canada”

OTTAWA — One day before delivering an address at the Broadbent Institute’s Progress Summit, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has released a powerful new campaign video making a direct appeal to voters: only New Democrats will fight to protect what makes Canada, Canada.

The video, launched Thursday night, draws a sharp line between the NDP’s vision for the country and the risks posed by both Pierre Poilievre and Mark Carney. Singh warns that voters are being asked to choose between two parties that would cut services, privatize health care, and put Donald Trump’s demands ahead of Canadian families.

“Poilievre wants American-style health care. Carney wants to cut the health care and both will give tax breaks to the wealthy. Neither of them will defend you from bearing the weight of Trump’s illegal trade war,” said Singh. “But New Democrats will.”

Addressing working families, renters, and those struggling with the rising cost of living, Singh outlines what the NDP is fighting for: national rent control, a cap on grocery prices, and a family doctor for every Canadian. He reminds voters that real progress—like dental care and the first steps toward Pharmacare—didn’t come from Liberals or Conservatives trading power back and forth. It came from electing New Democrats.

This video isn’t just a warning—it’s a call to action. Singh appeals directly to disillusioned voters, first-time voters, and anyone who’s tired of choosing between the lesser of two evils.

“Canada works best when we have enough New Democrats in Parliament to fight for regular people—not billionaires,” Singh says.
